Conference dinner

The conference dinner will be held at Wygston’s House on Thursday, 25 August. The cost for the 3 course meal is £35. Meal options (including vegetarian) are listed in the ONLINE STORE, with selection of dinner choices during purchase.

Accommodation

DMU halls of residence - please note, bookings here are now closed

New Wharf Hall or, for accessible rooms, Bede Hall are a 5 minute walk to conference venue (Vijay Patel building) and are single occupancy rooms within suite. Included in individual room: bedding, sheets, and towels; vanity unit with wash basin + mirror; shelving + wardrobe; desk with chair and desk lamp; free WIFI. Shared facilities: bathroom and shower; kitchen (with fridge), dining area and communal space; kettle + tea, coffee and milk will be provided.

Breakfast is available Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings in Food Village on the DMU campus. The Food Village is next to the Vijay Patel building, where conference sessions will be held.

The Belmont HotelBoutique Hotel located on Leicester’s pedestrian way, New Walk; 15 minute walk to conference venue.

DMU Library Access

If you registered for the conference before August 15, you will be able to access the DMU Library to access books and journals held in the library’s collections during the entire week of BSSH, from Monday, August 22 through Friday, August 26.  Just give your name at the library to gain access (please note photocopying will not be possible).

Local tip!

For anyone commuting to Leicester by train who may need food or caffeine en route to DMU’s campus, we suggest stopping into Bread & Honey, an independent coffee shop.
