We are delighted to announce three winners of the Autumn round of BSSH ECR funding. As no suitable applications to the Post-Graduate scheme were received, the BSSH Trustee Board decided to raise the amount available to the ECR applicants. This means that the BSSH is able to support three Early Career researchers and their exciting projects.
The three winners are:
Taylor Aucoin (University of Bristol):
‘A Game for Free Men’: Football in the Anglo-Scottish Borderlands c.1400-1750
Laura Brown (Northumbria University):
A spatial and cultural history of swimming pools in Britain
Sarah Hardstaff (University of Cambridge):
Identity, Representation and Coming-of-Age in Football Fiction for Children
Congratulations to the winners and we look forward to hearing more about your research soon. If you want to take advantage of the BSSH Research Grant for ECRs and PGs a new round will open later in the year. Please check the BSSH funding page, keep an eye out on twitter or get in touch with Nick Piercey (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
